Hop-On Hop-Off Rome Bus Tour
This hop-on, hop-off tour of Rome offers an easy and comfortable way to reach the eternal city from the port of Civitavecchia. After an approximately 90 minutes drive you will be dropped off near Castel Sant' Angelo (the Vatican area). From here, the nearest bus stop is only approximately a 5 to 10 minute walk from the drop off site.
The excitement begins as you climb aboard your double-decker bus to visit the famous landmarks of the Eternal City. Ride on the top deck for beautiful panoramic views as you wind through Rome to the Colosseum, Piazza Venezia, St. Peter's Basilica, and much more.
Hop off the bus to view the area around the Vatican or toss a coin in the Trevi Fountain, one of the most photographed fountains in the world. While on tour you can walk up the steep slope of the Spanish Steps, a walkway between two piazzas that has been referenced in many songs and films. Make sure to stop for a bite of delicious pasta and a cup of espresso as you make your way through the city!
During this hop-on, hop-off tour you can listen to pre-recorded commentary available in 9 different languages that will provide you with the history and culture of Rome. You will also have a bus host who can give you information regarding walking tour itineraries.
With this tour bus system that stops by more than 8 major landmarks every 15 minutes, you get to spend as much time as you want at the sites you truly want to see. At the appointed time, the shuttle will return you to Civitavecchia.
Please Note: The Hop-on Hop-off route runs every 20 minutes and it takes approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes to complete the routes without getting off; the ticket includes unlimited rides on the double decker buses for the day booked. The tours are narrated in English, Italian Spanish, French, German, Mandarin, Russian, Arabic, and Portuguese. First and last tour times will be detailed in your electronic ticket.

We recommend wearing comfortable, weather appropriate clothing and walking shoes. Guests should bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen if necessary.
Restrictions
Guests must be able to get in and out of the transportation. This tour can accommodate a collapsible wheelchair. There is a 5 to 10 minute walk in Rome from the drop off / pick up point to the nearest bus stop. The walk is over uneven surfaces and cobblestone streets. Due to security reasons, this tour is only available for cruise guests. Hotel guests cannot be accommodated on this tour.

In that role, Mr. Miller was responsible for contributing to Abercrombie & Kent's international growth through the development and acquisition of tour products and travel experiences around the world with a specific focus on cruising and land based experiences. Prior to joining Abercrombie & Kent, Mr. Miller held a variety of executive positions with Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises for more than a decade. These positions included Vice President of Guest Sales & Service, Vice President of Brand Development, and Vice President of Onboard Revenue (which included shore excursions). Mr. Miller also led Celebrity Expeditions, a collection of outstanding and unique tours around the World.
Michael Bonner
Mr. Bonner has over a decade of experience working in the cruise industry in a variety of roles for both Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. and Viking River Cruises. Most recently, Mr. Bonner was the Chief Operating Officer for The Scholar Ship, a Royal Caribbean program aimed at providing college students onboard educational programs in conjunction with enriching shore excursions around the world. Mr. Bonner also helped co-manage Viking River Cruises U.S. Operations, and he ran the corporate, strategic, and deployment planning functions at Royal Caribbean. While at Royal Caribbean, Mr. Bonner was responsible for forming Royal Celebrity Tours, Royal Caribbean's land-based tour operation in Alaska, which takes cruise passengers on multiple day tours through the interior of Alaska either before or after their cruises.
